Biography | Publications & Presentations

Dr. Klein is a native New Yorker. He received his medical degree as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Klein completed his internship in Internal Medicine at University Hospital at Stony Brook. He also received his specialty training in Dermatology at University Hospital at Stony Brook, where he served as Chief Resident in Dermatology. Dr. Klein is Board Certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology.

In addition to his private practice responsibilities, Dr. Klein is an Associate Professor of Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology at University Hospital at Stony Brook. Dr. Klein served as Residency Program Director from 2007 through 2013. In 2006, Dr. Klein received the Department of Dermatology Resident Teaching Award, which is given annually to recognize outstanding teaching by an attending physician. In 2011, Dr. Klein also received the Department of Dermatology Faculty Service Award for his contributions to the academic mission of Stony Brook Dermatology.

Dr. Klein has published extensively and continues to contribute to the medical literature. By writing on unusual presentations and treatments of disease, Dr. Klein remains at the forefront of dermatologic diagnosis and therapy. These manuscripts have been published in international journals of Dermatology and presented at national academic meetings. In 2021, the readers of Times Beacon Newspapers selected Dr. Klein as the best Dermatologist on Suffolk’s North Shore.
